Kayla was born and raised in a small rural community in western Ohio. At the age of four, she went to the altar in a children’s service leading her to believe she was on the way to Heaven. Once her family began attending a Bible-believing Baptist church, she became convicted of her need for salvation. Later, at the age of nine, she asked Christ to be her personal Savior. After God’s calling upon her to camp ministry and hearing about the Edge from an Edge staffer, she applied for a summer staff position. Kayla now works part time for the camp as support staff, filling in wherever needed. Kayla has over ten years of experience working in children’s ministries and music ministries. Her favorite part about working for The Edge is having the opportunity to impact lives for Christ alongside her husband, Kyle Byrd, the Edge’s program assistant.
